So I treated it to the quarter carwash, where I slipped on the ice and busted my ass. Oh well, totally worth it.
Yeah, the water was freezing as soon as it hit the car.

Nah, got them from Summit because the factory ones were hazed over and the adjustments were broken.

Oh okay, great car nontheless! I´ve absolutely loved these cars ever since I got the chance to drive my friends old E36. It´s the first and only automatic car I´ve ever driven. I got addicted to the kickdown. Unfortunately the cold Dutch climate caused it to rust beyond recognition and he had to sell the car for about $250 when it didn´t pass the annual car inspection (APK). He then bought an 2003 E46 which turned out to be a total lemon....

Very, I just applied for a car loan last night for a thing that I found that I like, so there's that...

This is generally true, but I can make an exception for a transversely front mounted Ferrari V8 powering the wheels.

I assume you´re in the US. If so, does having serieus rust issues any implications on the car being road legal?
In the Netherlands, we have a yearly mandatory vehicle inspection, the so called APK. Once a year you go to a state certified garage where a licensed mechanic performs the inspection. It sets you back about 20/30 euros. The test is quite rigorous and essentially preformed by ´the state´. Literally everything is checked; bearings, your seatbelt, CO2 emission, headlight adjustment etc. etc.
If your car doesn´t pass this inspection it's deemed road unworthy and you're basically fucked. The rust I posted in my previous post was an APK failure and my friends car was barred from driving on public roads. Does the US have such a system in place to check the safety of road going cars?

Another dutchman, cool. I've added you as an author on Oppo, welkom.

It varies by state and sometimes county. I'm in Cincinnati, where we have no inspections what so ever unless it's a kit car and maybe an out of state car, even then it's only a cop that walks around it. Other parts of the state still have emissions checks. Other sates have really in-depth inspections where failing does fuck you over.

Hey, een lekker hollands onderonsje. Bedankt!

Wow, so the US truly is the home of the free haha. But honestly, absolutely no tests whatsoever seems to be a recipe for disaster...

It's not that bad, sure you see a hole load of shit boxes on the road, but most cars aren't. Besides, it allowed me to keep driving my car, so that's a huge win.
